Vascular System is a series of colored-pencil drawings on textured paper, made in a borrowed apartment where Katan lived. Each square sheet gathers a few objects from the rooms — none of them hers — into a single anatomy.
The red is thick and engorged, less line than tissue: it swells from heavy trunks into fine capillaries, climbing a birch, coiling past a dagger, threading a green stairwell baluster. Worked in layers dense enough to read as paint, the objects dissolve where the red reaches them, half plant, half organ. What the drawings hold is not the objects but the space between them — walls, surfaces, and air drawn into one body. Hung in a row, the four sheets continue the system from frame to frame. The home becomes a living body, and dwelling a form of mutual absorption.
