Scraps is an ongoing series of oil paintings on handmade paper. Each work departs from a specific place — a room, a view from a window, an object encountered in passing — and distills it to an imprint. The works begin from memory — places recalled at a distance, already blurred, already acquiring texture of their own. What reaches the paper is this internal image, with all its distortions and accretions. Forms oscillate between botanical, architectural, and ornamental registers without resolving into identifiable objects.
The works are grouped by location and installed as an overlapping field across a wall — like scales, or a patchwork. Some pieces are partially concealed by others.
The source locations are personal. Individually the works are scraps. Together they form an interior map: layered, partially legible, inseparable from one another.
